"Get out my locker": A'ja Wilson wastes no time calling out teammate's 'crazy work'
Las Vegas Aces teammates A'ja Wilson and Chelsea Gray recently made fun of each other on social media. With the calendar already in December, 2025 is just around the corner. With that in mind, the next WNBA season is also rapidly approaching.
With only five months remaining before the start of the season, some players are already preparing for their next campaign. This includes the reigning MVP. Wilson and Gray recently posted on social media a video of them practicing together. Based on Gray's Instagram story, the Aces players seemed to have enjoyed a chill workout session together on the hardwood.
In the video, Chelsea Gray teased A'ja Wilson for putting on a small shirt. Gray then tagged Jackie Young, who is one of the smallest players on the Aces roster. Chelsea teased Wilson that Young was in her locker. A'ja then reposted the video on her Instagram story and captioned it with:
"This is crazy work!!! Get out of my locker."
A'ja Wilson put in work last season
Las Vegas Aces star A'ja Wilson was once again the best player in the WNBA last season. Wilson was crowned the 2024 MVP after placing third in the 2023 season. Her most recent achievement was the third MVP award of her illustrious career.
Last season, Wilson averaged career highs in almost every major statistical category except for assists. She averaged 26.9 points, 11.9 rebounds, 2.6 blocks and 1.8 steals per game. Despite performing better on defense last season, she surprisingly didn't win the Defensive Player of the Year award. Wilson won the award twice in a row from 2022-2023.
Nevertheless, her defensive efforts were still recognized as she was named part of the WNBA All-Defensive first team. As expected, she was also named to the All-WNBA first team. The only thing lacking was the WNBA championship.
For two consecutive years, from 2022-2023, the Las Vegas Aces reigned supreme in the W as they won back-to-back titles under the leadership of A'ja Wilson. However, the New York Liberty found a way to beat the Aces last season in the semifinals and ultimately dethroned the Minnesota Lynx to be crowned the 2024 WNBA champions.
However, given that Wilson is still arguably the best player in the WNBA, the Aces still have the opportunity to regain their throne and take over the league in 2025.
