"Going crazy"- Damian Lillard shouts out Angel Reese's exceptional career-high effort vs Storm
With the WNBA season going deeper, Angel Reese has been able to solidify her position as one of the top rookies in the league. The Chicago Sky rookie has been elite on both ends of the floor, rebounding and scoring at a very high level, and Damian Lillard is one of the names who recognized her great start to her WNBA career.
The Milwaukee Bucks star took to his social media to send a special shout-out to the WNBA rookie after the Sky’s 88-84 win over the Seattle Storm. The eight-time NBA All-Star reshared a post by ESPN and Sportscenter. It was a collage of two pictures of Angel Resse in the Sky team’s jersey and in a white pre-game outfit.
Posting the picture on his IG story, Lillard captioned it:
“.Angel going crazy.”
Reese deserves all the recognition as has played outstanding in the last few weeks. She has not only been great on the glass defensively but has risen to the occasion on the offensive end as well.
In the game against the Seattle Storm, Reese scored a season-high 27 points along with 10 rebounds.
Angel Reese extends her double-double record to 12 games
Angel Reese has been an absolute monster for the Chicago Sky this season. The rookie has become a rebounding machine. Reese had yet another double-double to extend her streak to 12 games.
When asked about her dominance in rebounding the ball, Reese said that she just plays her part for the team.
"I don't really think about it," she said of the double-double streak. "I just go out there and do my job. My job is to rebound, so I'm going to go out there and do my job and rebound. I know that's what my teammates need me to do, and I've committed to that."
Angel Reese has been one of the biggest factors for the Sky being one of the best rebounding teams in the league. In just her rookie season, Reese is leading the league in rebounding with 11.7 rebounds per game, ahead of A’ja Wilson (10.9). She also leads the WNBA in offensive rebounding at an average of 4.9 rebounds per game.
Reese’s 12 consecutive games with a double-double is the longest in the league in a single season. Candace Parker also had 12 consecutive double-doubles but she did it across the 2009 and 2010 seasons.
In these last 12 games, Angel Reese is averaging 15.9 points and 13.4 rebounds. She is averaging 13.9 points, 11.7 and 1.4 steals across 19 games this season.
