The Indiana Fever vs Minnesota Lynx matchup that took place in the WNBA tonight proved to be a tense battle. Both teams were locked in from start to finish as neither had allowed their opponent to pull away with a large lead. Even as one squad went on a run, the other would counter and quickly close the gap.
Caitlin Clark was letting it fly from downtown once more but she struggled to sink her shots as she went 2-for-11 from three. However, her teammates, Kelsey Mitchell and Aliyah Boston, stepped up by scoring 21 and 17 respectively to help the team remain in the game.
Meanwhile, for the Lynx, it was Alanna Smith and Bridget Carleton who led the way as they put up 18 and 17 points respectively. Carleton was also doing it all aside from just scoring as she came away with 7 rebounds and 6 assists as she tried to lead her team to a victory in the first game of what would be a three-game season series.
However, despite Carleton's best efforts, the Fever were able to stun the Lynx in the game's waning moments as they came out on top with a final score of 81-74.

The first Indiana Fever vs Minnesota Lynx game of the 2024 season was off to a hot start. Both sides kept trading blows with every possession and the biggest lead of the quarter went to the Lynx with five points midway through the opening frame before the Fever quickly closed the gap and even took a one-point lead as the first quarter ended.
Fans saw more of the same in the second quarter as it looked like the Lynx would pull away, only for the Fever to storm right back to close the gap. On multiple occasions, the Lynx went on mini scoring runs but the young Indiana squad kept finding answers, and the game entered the half with the score tied at 38.
It looked like the Lynx were finally going to put away the Fever in the third quarter as they outscored Caitlin Clark and her squad 22-15. However, Indiana stormed right back in the fourth quarter, swinging the momentum in their favor by outscoring the Lynx 28-14.
Minnesota scored their last points of the game at the 1:55 mark off of a Kayla McBride field goal to bring their score to 74 and to cut the deficit to one. After that, it was Indiana all the way as they went on a 6-0 run to close out the game.
