Jayson Tatum's girlfriend Ella Mai praises A'ja Wilson's 'immaculate' taste in wake of new album
Jayson Tatum's girlfriend, Ella Mai, praised A'ja Wilson for her taste in music. The singer commented on Wilson's Instagram carousel on Friday, which featured a snap of Mai's new song "One Of These" in the eighth slide.
"your music taste is immaculate," Mai wrote.
The song is part of Ella Mai's three-track project that she released earlier this month as a gift to fans to celebrate her 30th birthday.
Wilson's Instagram post also featured snaps of her offseason life, including multiple snaps of her pet dog, Deuce.
"one of them onez ✨" Wilson captioned her post.
A'ja Wilson admits to being 'annoyed' at revalidating her superstar status amid emerging WNBA talents
Speaking to New York Knicks star Jalen Brunson on the "Roommates Show" podcast on Wednesday, A'ja Wilson revealed that she was "annoyed" at having to prove herself again in the WNBA last season as young players made noise in the league. The reigning WNBA MVP also discussed the league's dramatic growth in the past year.
"It wasn't the creeping growth that we were used to, it was like, 'No, we're taking a leap,'" Wilson said. "And that's something that you really don't see in leagues. It was like, 'Wow, look at us, look at where we've come,' but I felt like this year, it was like, 'This is the time. We're in the season of women's basketball.'
"And it was so much fun. It was aggravating, I'm not gonna lie. It was super annoying sometimes, because you feel like you have to reprove yourself."
She then shared that she needed to "reprove" herself early in the season.
"It was probably early on in the season. I would just have to say, maybe like 10 games in, it was like when I said, 'I'm not about to go back with fans, I'm not about to go back with anything. The time is now. Whatever you do, people are gonna say something regardless, so you might as well do it your way.'
"And that's when it just clicked with me that I'm like, 'No, I'm not about to waste my energy and give my energy to people that are literally draining it from me.'"
A'ja Wilson ended her historic season as the unanimous MVP and had one of the best seasons of her career. However, Wilson and the Las Vegas Aces could not convert their back-to-back championships into a three-peat run.
