"She doesn't look that formidable" - Knicks legend jokes about Caitlin Clark after courtside appearance

Caitlin Clark's offseason spree of attending her home teams' basketball games continued Sunday after she appeared courtside for the Knicks-Pacers game. Clark had previously been to two Butler Bulldogs games. Her boyfriend, Connor McCaffery, is an assistant coach with the program.

Clark's appearance caught the eye of Knicks legend Walt "Clyde" Frazier, who was on color commentator duties for MSG Network, the Knicks' official broadcast. The 79-year-old poked fun at Clark, saying he could get a stop on her.

"She doesn't look that formidable, I could stop her," Frazier joked (h/t Knicks Muse).

Clark was courtside with her boyfriend, Connor McCaffery, and Tyrese Haliburton's girlfriend, Jade Jones. She may have proven a lucky charm for the Pacers, especially her friend Tyrese. The Pacers won the game 132-121, with Haliburton dropping a season-high 35 points and 14 assists, shooting 11 of 18.

Haliburton had a rough start to the year after putting up just 14.7 points on 37.9% shooting, including 25.4% in 3s.

Fans hail Caitlin Clark for Tyrese Haliburton's bounce-back outing

Tyrese Haliburton shrugging off his early season struggles against the New York Knicks on Sunday had fans attributing the turnaround to Caitlin Clark's presence.

"The Caitlin Clark effect," one fan wrote.
"he def needed some kinda effect ngl," another added.

Haliburton frequently attended Clark's Fever games too. Indiana sports' finest seemingly share mutual respect and a bond that goes beyond basketball. Haliburton also called Clark his friend during Media Day.

"I’ve grown to be pretty close with Caitlin and (Connor),” Haliburton said. “Me, her, him and my girlfriend, Jade, all have a group chat that we talk in pretty often about everything. So it’s been cool to just grow my friendship with her."

Both stars were responsible for getting their respective teams back in the NBA and WNBA playoff mix last year.

The Pacers ended a three-year drought behind Tyrese Haliburton's breakout season and made it to the Eastern Conference finals. Meanwhile, Caitlin Clark led the Indiana Fever to the postseason after 2016 in her rookie year.

They were both all-stars last year. Clark even finished fourth in MVP voting.
