Skylar Diggins shouts out $225,000 teammate after her career-high night in win at old stomping ground
Seattle Storm star Skylar Diggins lauded teammate Gabby Williams after Williams had a career-best 18-point first half in an 89-77 win at the Phoenix Mercury on Saturday night. While Diggins, a former Phoenix star, led the charge on her old stomping ground, Williams, a $225,000 forward, set the tone in the first half.
Diggins shouted out Williams on Instagram while reposting a clip from the WNBA account.
"Gabby is really fn good at basketball," Diggins wrote on Instagram.
Diggins and Williams accounted for more than half of the Storm's total points, scoring 26 and 21 points, respectively. Williams also delivered her best shooting performance to date, hitting a career-best five 3-pointers. The duo's performance earned them a well-fought win as they moved into second place in the Commissioner's Cup standings.

Williams, who joined the Storm in 2022, is averaging 15.2 points and 4.0 assists per game.

The Seattle Storm defeated the Phoenix Mercury for the second time this season, as their star guard Skylar Diggins dropped a season-high performance. Vying against her former team in Arizona, Diggins recorded 26 points and seven assists as she went off in the second half while shooting 50% from the three-point line.
Although she had a slow start to the game, missing her first seven field-goal attempts. Diggins made an incredible comeback in the second half, as she recorded 22 points with 12 and 10 points in the third and fourth quarters, respectively.
The win saw the Storm (5-4) close the gap on the Mercury (6-4) in the WNBA standings as they sit two places below them in sixth.
