WATCH: A'ja Wilson means business in white top and black shorts as she gears up for historic milestone
Las Vegas Aces superstar A'ja Wilson is gearing up for a marquee matchup against Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever on Wednesday night. To say the veteran center has had a remarkable season is an understatement, as she's about to break a major record in WNBA history.
Entering the first of back-to-back games against the Fever, Wilson is 11 points away from passing Jewell Lloyd for the single-season scoring record. Despite missing the Aces' duel against the New York Liberty over the weekend, Wilson looks ready to make a statement against one of the league's hottest teams, and her entrance to Gainbridge Fieldhouse is the prime sample of that.
A video shared by the WNBA's Instagram account shows her wearing a white top with black shorts and white shoes as she was locked in.
A'ja Wilson unlocked a new level of performance this season, becoming a menace on both ends of the floor. She's the leading candidate to win both the MVP and Defensive Player of the Year awards this season due to his impressive performances even when the rest of the Aces are having low nights.
Going against one of the league's most popular teams, in front of Caitlin Clark and company, will probably attract more attention to the game. Added to the possibility of Wilson breaking the record, the table is served for a memorable matchup.
Lisa Leslie hypes up A'ja Wilson ahead of potentially special night
Many people have supported A'ja Wilson throughout this season. Now that she's on the verge of achieving a terrific milestone, WNBA legend Lisa Leslie hyped her up on Instagram.
After the league's Instagram account shared a post reminding people that Wilson is on the verge of history, the two-time WNBA champion didn't hide her excitement for her fellow center.
"I love it!!! Go @aja22wilson Go! You can do it 🙏🏼🙏🏼," she commented underneath the post on Wednesday.
The 2024 WNBA season has been special for many. It's been entertaining from start to finish, and A'ja Wilson has been one of the main attractions. The two-time WNBA champion is averaging 27.3 points, 11.9 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.9 steals and 2.7 blocks per game, shooting 52.7% from the field and 85.5% from the free-throw line.
The Aces still have a couple of games left on the schedule, and Wilson can finish the season on a higher note.
