“We’re both just true Midwesterners”: Taylor Swift’s boyfriend Travis Kelce shares special connection with Caitlin Clark after viral meetup
Kansas City Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce had nothing but good things to say about Caitlin Clark. The three-time Super Bowl champion met with the WNBA sensation during a Taylor Swift concert at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, getting an excellent impression from the 2024 Rookie of the Year.
Talking with his brother Jason on this week's edition of "New Heights," Kelce talked about his experience watching his girlfriend Taylor Swift perform before the Eras Tour ended. He talked about Clark, showering her in praise and noting that she enjoys being out in Indianapolis.
"Saw Caitlin Clark there. Got to meet Caitlin. She's awesome. She loves being out there in Indianapolis. Says it's a fun city. And we're both just true Midwesterners to the heart. You know, played high school ball, college ball, pro ball, all out here in the Midwest, and it was cool catching up with her," Kelce said.
Caitlin Clark was hyped up to see Taylor Swift and attended both concerts at the Colts' stadium. She joined 69,000 fans to watch the artist take the stage alongside her mother, Anne Nizzi-Clark. It was during that time that she starred in a moment that fans immortalized on social media.
Caitlin Clark starred in viral video next to Travis Kelce at Taylor Swift's show
TikTok user @tay_n_trav shared a short video of Caitlin Clark and her mother standing next to Kelce in the VIP section. Once it hit social media, the clip went viral.
Clark picked an all-Prada outfit for this show, going with a white t-shirt and black pants. Kelce went with a black long-sleeved shirt and matching cap. The Indiana Fever star has been an avid fan of Taylor Swift and she's attended several shows in the last year.
Following a terrific rookie season in the WNBA, the young guard is ready to take her game to the next level and keep turning heads with impressive performances. She was the main reason the league broke several records of viewership and attendance last season, and those numbers are expected to go higher in 2025.
Caitlin Clark became the first rookie and Fever player ever to post a triple-double in league history on her way to the ROY. Meanwhile, Kelce and the Chiefs survived against Baker Mayfield at Arrowhead Stadium on Monday, beating the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in overtime to remain unbeaten in the 2024 season.
