Where to watch New York Liberty vs Phoenix Mercury Date, time, and streaming options

The New York Liberty have punched their playoff ticket following their scintillating 25-5 run in the 2024 WNBA season. They head down to the West Coast on Monday for a skirmish with the Phoenix Mercury, who are yet to book a playoff berth. The Liberty are coming off a 72-64 loss to the Connecticut Sun, while the Mercury narrowly edged the Atlanta Dream 82-80.

This matchup will be the third and final one between the two teams, with their season series being 1-1. Despite a loss in their previous outing, the Liberty enter as the favorites, as they are second in league offense and are the third-best defensive team in the league.

The Mercury have potential but have faltered in a few games in the regular season, which sees them in sixth place with a 16-14 record. Much of their chances depend on how seasoned veterans Brittney Griner and Diana Taurasi fare, while Kahleah Copper is expected to provide the spark in offense. A win will see them inch closer to the two-time defending champions Las Vegas Aces.

New York Liberty vs Phoenix Mercury Player to watch out for Kahleah Copper

One of the more intriguing players this season, Kahleah Copper has been solid for the Phoenix Mercury.

The guard has propped up 22.9 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.3 assists, while shooting 44.6% from the field and 33.3% from the 3-point land. Her move from the Chicago Sky bolstered the Mercury, who are in postseason reckoning this season.

She had led the Sky during the 2021 playoffs and was adjudged WNBA Finals MVP as the team won their maiden title in franchise history. Copper was also a part of the gold medal-winning squad at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, France.

She becomes one of the key players to watch out for as the Mercury hope to solidify a playoff spot soon.
