The WNBA playoff seeding is heating up as we race toward the business end of the regular season. The two teams that square off on Saturday night have very different ambitions, even though both secured playoff tickets.

The hosts, Seattle Storm, will be aiming to overcome recent setbacks to get their top four charge back on course. Meanwhile, the visitors, the Phoenix Mercury, continue to search for consistency, with their stuttering form casting doubt over the clinical nature of the team.

Both teams come into this game on the back of humbling defeats. In the last game, the Mercury failed to impress, producing yet another lethargic display in a 90-77 loss, raising concerns about the players' attitude. The Storm also tasted defeat, losing 70-77 on the road against the league leaders, the New York Liberty.

This will be the fourth and final meeting between the two, with the Storm holding a 2-1 advantage.

Phoenix Mercury vs. Seattle Storm: Player to watch

Gabby Williams

Attacking prowess is something that the Storm have been struggling with in recent times, so the signing of Gabby Williams was expected to help greatly with that. Williams has been starting in the lineup for the past five games and is gradually returning to her usual form. Over the last six games, she has averaged 7.5 points, 3.3 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game.

The French star scored 17 points in the team's recent loss to the Liberty and will want to prove that she can still perform when called upon. Eyes will be on her to deliver again today.
