WNBA legend Candace Parker fires off two-word response to Shaquille O'Neal's controversial 'rim' claim

WNBA legend Candace Parker completely disagreed with Shaquille O'Neal's claim about the height of the rim for the women's league. The four-time NBA champion took to Instagram to explain his case and named A'ja Wilson as a key reason why the W should lower the rim.

"60% of the fan said Dunking their favorite thing. The WNBA has none of that. So they make much less money. Just trying to get you that 300 million dollars you deserve @aja22wilson #shaqwbnacommisioner . Love yall @wnba," O'Neal wrote.

Moreover, O'Neal said that this would benefit the league's ratings and bring more attention to the All-Star Game.

Candace Parker was quick to comment on this post and shared her thoughts with a single two-word message.

Shaquille O'Neal's comments responded to A'ja Wilson's remarks when asked about the possibility of lowering the rim on Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart's podcast last week. The Las Vegas Aces strongly disagreed with that idea, saying that it wouldn't affect only one shot.

"What is it gonna do? Honestly, if you wanted, what it really is gonna do for us?" Wilson asked. "Ok well then, that could be like my offseason — I would much rather gear my offseason to like, 'Let's focus on this jumping' versus lowering like an inch. That could change all of our shots. Do y'all not understand that?"

Just like Wilson, Candace Parker has never been a fan of that idea and she let O'Neal know a couple of years ago, even vowing that her daughter would be dunking in the WNBA in a matter of years.

Candace Parker had already shot down Shaquille O'Neal's rim suggestion

Back in 2021, Candace Parker let Shaquille O'Neal know that sooner rather than later, dunks would become a common play in the WNBA. They engaged in a couple of back-and-forth to defend their points during their time together on TNT's "Inside the NBA."

O'Neal said that a way to make the NBA and WNBA 'equal,' the W would have to lower the rim. Parker took issue with that suggestion and said that her next child would do what Shaq wanted to see.

"It's coming. Opportunity is there," Parker said. "I guarantee, my next child will be drop-step dunking. I promise you. It's coming."

That suggestion has never sat well with Parker, but Shaq keeps bringing it up.
