"Y'all mad that Orange man lied": Natasha Cloud rips into Donald Trump and the “bunch of billionaires” that allegedly control the US
Natasha Cloud has been a vocal critic of President-elect Donald Trump, even when he was the President from 2017 to 2021. The Phoenix Mercury defensive guard expressed her distaste anew on the businessman-turned-politician through a slew of posts on her social media account.
Cloud scrutinized Trump’s integration of 13 billionaires for his cabinet in the next administration starting on January 2025. She also addressed those who go against her political stances by claiming that wealthy people are now controlling the system in their country.
“Y’all mad that orange man lied and told y'all he was gonna make sh*t cheaper🤣 A bunch of billionaires now control our banking, our food, our healthcare & the info that we will receive. Look up the word oligarchy,” she wrote.
In the past few weeks, President-elect Trump has seemingly assembled one of, if not, the wealthiest cabinet in U.S. political history. It has 13 billionaires set to hold government posts when he assumes office next year.
According to a report by "Good Morning America," Trump’s cabinet’s net worth would likely hit around $460 billion. Among the billionaires named in the cabinet is X owner Elon Musk, former WWE executive Linda MacMahon and Howard Lutnick.
Cloud also tore through the possible ban of the TikTok app in the country, emphasizing that there are other pressing issues that should be resolved instead of the app’s removal in the country.
“We are banning TikTok before any legislation surrounding guns after another school shooting,” she said.
The Phoenix guard was a known supporter of Democratic candidate and outgoing U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris, who lost against Trump in the 2024 Presidential elections.
Natasha Cloud goes for a government rant before the election
Months before the U.S. Presidential elections, Natasha Cloud went on a rant about the political system in America. She called for Americans to unite and not accept the government’s treatment of its citizens.
"At some point we gotta put our differences aside and understand WE ARE ALL GETTING f**ked. & idk about y'all im tired of this sh*t. Everybody can eat. They just make us think everyone eating means someone’s taking from your plate. A lie. Our government been taking all OUR food,” Cloud wrote on X, formerly Twitter, in May.
“No more being puppets. No more taking crumbs. No more not being listened to by our government. No morning paycheck to paycheck. No more 'inflation' while federal minimum wage hasn’t increased since 2009. It is $7.25. No more genocide 🍉 No more settling & oppressing. 🇨🇩,” she said.
It was only some of Cloud's political rants on her social media account as she doubled down on being vocal about her stances as the political race got heated.
Cloud played 38 games for the Mercury in the 2024 WNBA season, averaging 11.5 points, 4.1 rebounds and 6.9 assists per game.
She is known for her defensive versatility, as she normed 1.4 steals and 0.6 blocks per game, making it into the league’s all-defensive second team.
