5 Agents with the highest pick rate in VCT Game Changers Championship 2024
VCT Game Changers Championship 2024 was this season's last official global event. A total of 10 GC teams from all over the world competed for the title of World Champion. After a series of intense matches over the course of a week, Shopify Rebellion became GC's first back-to-back champions.
While the event was exciting to witness, viewers were also interested to see how the current meta will come into play with the new map pool. As Pearl and Split were added back in the competition, many Agents returned to the big stage. Here's a list of five Agents with the highest pick rate at VCT Game Changers Championship 2024.
Most picked Agents during VCT Game Changers Championship 2024
1) Breach (40%)
Breach comes under the Initiator category of Agents and has existed in the game since its beta stage. He's extremely useful as his abilities allow his teammates to play aggressively in the attacking and defensive halves. Breach's stuns are also very helpful to assist a Duelist in getting early player advantages.
This year has seen a resurgence of Breach. In VCT Game Changers Championship 2024, he had a pick rate of 40% and was used the most on Sunset and Haven. This is significantly higher compared to Valorant Champions 2024 where it was only 24% and was 10th when it came to Agent pick rates.
2) Neon (40%)
Neon is a Duelist and was the 18th Agent released in the game. With her abilities, players can quickly enter the site and create space for their teammates. Neon's Relay Bolt combined with the Fast Lane also make her a pseudo Initiator for her team.
In this current meta, Neon is easily the best Agent in the game. Her ability to slide and have 100% accuracy made her a must-pick for most compositions going into VCT Game Changers Championship 2024. At this event, she ended up with a pick rate of 40% which is much higher compared to the 22% at Valorant Champions 2024.
3) Sova (60%)
Sova has been a part of Valorant since its beta stage and comes under the Initiator category of Agents. His abilities allow him to gather information about enemies' exact locations. Thus, he ends up being most useful for clearing close corners. Sova also has some damage-inducing abilities that work perfectly for post-plant scenarios.
Since the start of Valorant esports, Sova has always remained one of the top-picked Agents. He ends up being viable on almost every map and is better than his other Initiator counterparts in many ways. In VCT Game Changers Championship 2024, Sova had a pick rate of 60%, which isn't a huge leap compared to the 52% in Valorant Champions 2024.
4) Cypher (67%)
Cypher is a Sentinel who has been a part of the game since its beta stage. This Agent's abilities can anchor a site and slow down enemy pushes all by himself. Cypher is also the best for detecting flanks.
During GCC 2024, Cypher was the strongest Sentinel Agent in the game. His Trapwires would have massive value in each round and force enemies to use their abilities to break it. So it's quite unsurprising to see that he had a pick rate of 67% at the event and was among the top-picked Agents. However, Valorant Champions 2024 saw him picked for only 42% of the time.
5) Omen (75%)
Omen is a Controller Agent who has been in the game since its beta stage. With his abilities, he can block line of sight and assist in initiating a coordinated execute onto a site. On top of this, Omen's teleportation ability can sometimes aid him to become a secondary entry with the primary Duelist.
In VCT Game Changers Championship 2024, Omen was the most used Agent with a pick rate of 75%. Just like Sova and Cypher, he is a great fit for almost every map and can bring tons of value to his team. During the latest GC event, he was used on almost every map except Pearl. Valorant Champions 2024 also saw Omen as the most used Agent with a pick rate of 62%.
