"China definitely has some firepower"- Fnatic's Boasters talks about Chinese teams at Valorant Champions 2024 (Exclusive)

Valorant Champions 2024, this season's final international event, has 16 teams from four franchise leagues battling it out in Seoul, South Korea to make their mark in esports history and earn the title of world champion. Teams will first go through the Group Stage and then the Playoffs, both of which will follow the double-elimination format.

Day 2 had two matches, one of them was between EMEA's Fnatic and China's Bilibili Gaming. The Bo3 (Best-of-three) was short-lived as Fnatic dominated and won the series by a clean 2-0 scoreline.

In the post-match conference, Sportskeeda Esports' Sneh Jadhav had a word with Fnatic's in-game leader Boaster, during which he said,

"China definitely has some firepower"

Fnatic's Boaster shares his opinions on Chinese teams after their victory against Bilibili Gaming in Valorant Champions 2024

Fnatic has had many ups and downs during the 2024 season. The team had an underwhelming performance in Kickoff and hence missed out on Masters Madrid. Later, they won Stage 1 but couldn't get a single series win at Masters Shanghai. However, Stage 2 was very different as the team dominated their competition by somewhat reinventing themselves. This allowed them to effortlessly qualify for Valorant Champions 2024.

In their match against Bilibili Gaming at Valorant Champions 2024, Fnatic had a slightly difficult time putting up rounds on the first map, Bind. However, they slowly built their momentum and won the map quite easily despite the 13-9 scoreline. The second map was much more dominant as Bilibili Gaming could only win four rounds.

There has always been a lot of discourse over the Chinese Valorant teams and their performance at international events. Many consider them as the weakest region, while some have thought of them as underrated. Sportskeeda Esports asked Fnatic's Boaster what he thought of the Chinese Valorant teams and the region as a whole. Here's what he said:

"I think China definitely has some firepower in them and they have some strong teams. I think they are also late to the game with it only being released at the start of this year officially. So like anything we hadn't seen much success from APAC up until we saw Gen.G finally winning. I think China will be the same. When we scrim against them, there's some players that can definitely shoot."

He also emphasized how the team needs some time for greater success:

"It's just about time and experience like anything. You know I didn't start winning a trophy until three years I think or four years into the game. So yeah I think it will be the same for them. I mean I was a bit scared playing against Bilibili today but we ended up winning so..."

Due to this win, Fnatic will head to the upper bracket of the Group Stage at Valorant Champions 2024. They will face off against Pacific's DRX for the Playoffs spot.
