"I was definitely the cause of the loss"- G2 Gozen's mimi after losing to Shopify Rebellion at VCT Game Changers Championship 2024 (Exclusive)
VCT Game Changers Championship 2024 has finally reached its last few matches. The teams will be giving their absolute best in the two remaining matches (which will follow the longer Bo5 format), to stay in competition for the title of World Champion. Day 7 began with a matchup between EMEA's G2 Gozen and NA's Shopify Rebellion. This last Bo3 (best-of-three) series of the event was also one of the closest overall. While only two maps were played, both of them went to overtime. However, after a lot of back and forth between the two teams, Shopify Rebellion emerged victorious and closed the series with a 2-0 win.
After the match, Sportskeeda Esports' Sneh Jadhav got the opportunity to talk to G2 Gozen's mimi, during which she said:

G2 Gozen came into this event as one of the strongest teams. With a good mixture of experienced pros and talented rookies on the roster, it was able to dominate the other teams in its region. At the VCT Game Changers Championship 2024, the team has been able to continue that high level of performance.
In their match against Shopify Rebellion, G2 Gozen was able to mount a great comeback on the first map, Abyss, and take things to overtime. However, the second map, Haven, was a different story as both teams were going back and forth in round wins. Ultimately, Shopify Rebellion was able to just barely close both the maps and secure its spot in the Grand Finals.
Sportskeeda Esports approached G2 Gozen's mimi to ask her about what she thought were the positives from the intense series. Here's what she said:
"I think everybody's individual performance was outstanding. They did a lot of great both aim but also mid round calls that really saved a lot of rounds. So I am very happy with it. And I would say that I was definitely the cause of the loss today. I will make sure that I do better tomorrow."
As a result of this defeat, G2 Gozen has been sent to the lower bracket. Their next match will be against Brazil's MIBR, where they will play for the remaining spot in the Grand Finals.
