JayH provisional suspension lifted, VCT MYSG issues official warning instead
JayH has been given an official warning by VCT Malaysia and Singapore. This comes after an official investigation was concluded as the player was accused of match-fixing. The allegations suggested that he had participated in match-fixing activities ahead of competing at VCT Challengers Malaysia and Singapore 2024. The player was provisionally suspended from April 30 onwards as Riot Games launched a thorough investigation.
According to the official announcement posted by VCT MSYG's official X handle, the provisional suspension has been lifted. Here's more about the situation involving JayH.
JayH gets official warning after VCT MYSG dismisses match-fixing allegations
The announcement regarding JayH and his suspension being lifted came on June 13, 2024. This indicates that the previously announced investigation into the player lasted for over a month. Right before the allegations went public, JayH was released from team Disguised. It should be noted that the two incidents are not related.
It was mentioned in the VCT MYSG announcement that the rumors regarding JayH fixing matches arose after the player made some jokes. These rumors soon turned into allegations that needed Riot Games' attention since he was part of a major VCT roster. The latest announcement mentioned:
"After reviewing the complaint and all evidence in our possession, we have determined the allegations of match-fixing arose due to jokes JayH had made in bad taste. Therefore, at this time, we are closing the investigation against JayH and the provisional suspension against him will be lifted. Additionally, JayH will be given an official warning against such behavior."
JayH took to his own X handle to respond to the investigation being closed. In his statement, he expressed relief and was grateful for fans and his former organization, Disguised, for having faith in him.
His relief resonated with his statement that was made right after the allegations first came to light. He was quick to defend himself and informed his fans through his X handle that he had not been initially informed about any investigations. Clearly, the allegations were a surprise to him.
In his own words, the player claimed that he did not have any hand in match-fixing activities:
"Hi, any VCL MYSG personnel, can contact me please, I don’t matchfix, never participated in any activity involving it."
Now that the investigation has been concluded, he has announced that he will move on from the incident and take a hiatus for the time being. He also acknowledged the jokes he made in bad taste and noted that they were made privately.
However, he won't be entertaining any questions regarding the jokes so it seems that they will remain a closely guarded secret. Regardless, the investigation has concluded that JayH was innocent. Riot Games still reserves the right to reopen the investigation in case further evidence is received.
Currently, JayH is not on team Disguise's official roster, which consists of juicy, Wayne, grumble, STYRON, and Vera.
