"MiniBoo and Wo0t really took charge" - Team Heretics' coach, neilzinho, after their close win against DRX in Valorant Champions 2024 (Exclusive)

After weeks of rigorous competition, Valorant Champions 2024 is finally nearing its end, and the top four teams have finally emerged to face off against each other in a larger arena. Here, they will directly compete for the trophy and the title of 'world champion'. Every upcoming match is easily the most important one for each of these teams in the 2024 season.

Day 15 ended with a match between EMEA's Team Heretics and Pacific's DRX. The Bo3 (Best-of-three) went the distance as both teams dominated the other on their own map picks. However, the final map, Icebox, ended up being very close as Team Heretics made an incredible comeback and eventually closed the series with a 2-1 scoreline.

In the post-match conference, Sportskeeda Esports' Sneh Jadhav got the chance to talk to Team Heretics' coach, neilzinho during which he said:

"MiniBoo and Wo0t really took charge."

Team Heretics' neilzinho talks about how MiniBoo and Wo0t affected the outcome of the series against DRX in Valorant Champions 2024

Team Heretics has been one of the most consistent squads of the 2024 season. This roster of young rookies has managed to surprise the world time and again with their high-place finishes at almost every event. Among the top four teams at Valorant Champions 2024, Team Heretics is easily the best one.

In their match against DRX, Team Heretics ended up struggling in the final map, Icebox. They were unable to win rounds and lost some in very unusual ways.

Despite that, this squad was able to slowly mount a comeback and ended up closing the series by 2-1. After the win, Team Heretics' coach, neilzinho tweeted about his team's victory over DRX and how the players, MiniBoo and Wo0t had stepped up in terms of comms.

Sportskeeda Esports approached him and asked him to elaborate on that statement and how MiniBoo and Wo0t affected the final map's outcome. Here's what he said:

"Yeah, I think I said it in the tweet as well. Me, weber, Niklas we are all like really proud of everyone on the team. But obviously, I think domi, MiniBoo and Wo0t were putting a lot of pressure on themselves the last couple of days. And it would have been very very easy to give up under the circumstances, like we had lost so many sh*t rounds I'm not gonna lie. I can't think of a better word to describe it. And both MiniBoo and Wo0t really took charge of their micro plays with the comms keeping our fundamentals good and making sure that you know after we lost that pistol round."

He further added praising the whole team for stepping up:

"I don't think we had any other poor rounds and there was a couple of just like really really strong micro plays by both Domi (MiniBoo) and Wo0t. To be honest, the whole team stepped up but those two especially just because they had so much more pressure put on, I think by themselves, so I am really really happy they could power through it. Yeah, they played incredible."

With this win, Team Heretics have made it to the top four of the event. Their next match will be against Americas' Sentinels, where the loser will be eliminated from the competition.
