Surrender and remake disabled on Valorant Console due to bug
Following its limited beta release on June 14, 2024, Valorant Console has now seen its first major bug with surrender and remake. Players reported completely losing control of the game, prompting a quick response from Riot Games. Many Console players began reporting a UI bug that triggers after trying to vote for surrender or remake. Taking either of these actions has proven game-breaking with no solution other than to restart the game.
Even that may not work at times. Due to this issue, Riot Games has temporarily disabled the surrender and remake options altogether. This article provides more details.
Surrender and remake disabled after Valorant Console players report bug
Riot devs took to the game's official X handle to announce the disabling of the surrender and remake options on Valorant Console on June 19, 2024, just a day after players reported the issue.
Most players reported the same strange phenomenon where even trying to call a vote would immediately wreck the game. A Reddit user, u/BigTyronBawlsky, took to the forum to discuss the issue.
They noted that launching the vote made it impossible to buy weapons right after the vote was called and rejected. It breaks the game as well as the ongoing match. Clicking on any option makes no difference to the game at all.
Other players also noted that no buttons work after a vote has been called. The main menu either does not appear or is unusable even if it does. Some also mentioned the cursor completely disappearing from the screen, making it a challenge to do anything at all.
Valorant Console limited beta has no end date in sight so for now. Thus, bugs like these should be expected. The surrender and remake functions will not be available on the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S for the time being. That said, no other functions have been affected.
Riot Games has not provided a date or time for these options to come back online. Players have been advised to keep an eye on the official social handles and announcements to know when the bug has been patched.
