"They played pretty well as a team" - Leviatán's C0M after their loss against Trace Esports in Valorant Champions 2024 (Exclusive)
Valorant Champions 2024 is headed towards the end of its first stage. The sixteen teams are currently playing in the Group Stage to try and secure their Playoffs spots. Both of these stages will be conducted in a double-elimination format.
Day 6 of the event opened with a match between the Americas' number one seed, Leviatán, and China's number three seed, Trace Esports. The best-of-three (Bo3) went the distance as both teams were able to win on their own map picks. However, it was eventually Trace Esports that dominated the final map and closed the series with a 2-1 scoreline.
During the post-match conference, Sportskeeda Esports' got the chance to talk to Leviatán's C0M in which he said:

Leviatán's C0M talks about the one-sided loss on Ascent against Trace Esports in Valorant Champions 2024
Leviatán is among the heavy favorites coming into Valorant Champions 2024. Their stellar performance throughout the Americas League and the trophy win in Stage 2 made them look like a force to be reckoned with. Each player on this roster has proved time and again that they can deliver incredible individual performances and take over any match single-handedly.
In their match against Trace Esports, Leviatán put up a great fight in the first two maps, Bind and Sunset. Both of these maps ended up being quite close which showed how equally matched the two teams looked. However, on the decider map, Ascent, Trace Esports was able to hold a massive lead and ended up closing it with a comfortable 13-5 scoreline.
Sportskeeda Esports approached Leviatán's C0M to ask him about what he felt went wrong in the final map of their series against Trace Esports. Here's what he said:
"I don't even know, I will have to look back at the VOD honestly. It feels like a lot of things went wrong. I think just overall today we didn't play fully as a team and they played pretty well as a team and you can tell that they are pretty comfortable on the map. I would just have to look back at the VOD and see what happened."
Due to this defeat, Leviatán will be heading to the lower bracket of the Group Stage in this event. Their next match will be against the winner of Team Vitality vs Talon Esports where the loser will be eliminated from the competition.
