Valorant is going to receive a new hotfix patch in a few hours to fix a console-crashing issue. The official Valorant X page created a post to notify the community about the upcoming update, as all the matchmaking queues will be offline once the update is live for Riot's FPS title on consoles. This should help players experience smoother gameplay after the issue is resolved permanently.
This article will highlight the upcoming Valorant console downtime as Riot Games releases a new hotfix for the game.
Valorant console to receive urgent hotfix to fix game crash bug
The official X post outlined that the console platforms will be receiving a hotfix update today and all matchmaking queues will shut down from 1:30 PM PT/ 2 AM IST (August 16, 2024)/ 4:30 PM EST. The post did not provide an exact date or time for when the matchmaking system will be enabled for the player base.
Riot's FPS title's console version is going to receive this new update to fix a bug that causes some players to crash while loading into matches, leading to a longer loading time for the entire lobby. A similar scenario occurs for PC players, where the match takes a long time to load whenever any player loses connection to the client or crashes during the lobby loading screen.

Players will likely be free to play matches till the aforementioned time, and any matches that begin before it might be allowed to continue as a part of the hotfix. However, once the match is over, users will not be able to queue up and find another lobby.
The Riot Client is usually updated for such scenarios and an in-game notification about the upcoming maintenance routine may already be available for all console players.
