VCT Game Changers Championship 2024 has delivered some exceptional matches so far. Day 2 had three matches lined up, one of which was between EMEA's G2 Gozen and LATAM's KRÜ BLAZE. The Bo3 (Best-of-three) was extremely close as both teams won on their own map picks. However, it was the decider map, Abyss, where viewers saw a lot of back and forth between the two teams. Eventually, it was G2 Gozen that closed out the map by barely avoiding overtime and won the series by 2-1.

G2 Gozen is easily among the top teams at this event. They had a phenomenal performance in 2024, winning every regional event. On top of this, they are on a 15-match win streak, losing only three maps.

Due to this high-level performance, many expected G2 Gozen to dominate their first match of VCT Game Changers Championship 2024. However, KRÜ BLAZE shocked everyone as they completely outplayed G2 Gozen on the first map, Haven, despite having a slow start.

As the series went on, G2 Gozen replicated their top-tier regional performances and even made a phenomenal comeback on the third map, Abyss.

Sportskeeda Esports approached G2 Gozen's mimi to ask her about what was the discussion done within to mentally reset after their first map loss. Here's what she said:

"We kinda knew what our mistakes were. And we just discussed it very quickly so we wouldn't take the same mistakes into the second map. It was mainly just about decision making and being a bit quicker and not being too stale."

Due to this win, G2 Gozen will progress further in the tournament's upper bracket. Their next match will be against MIBR, where they will play for a spot in the Upper Final.
