"We are here for each other"- Team Falcons Vega's Mary on her growth and new team coming into VCT Game Changers Championship 2024 (Exclusive)

VCT Game Changers Championship 2024 has finally begun, with ten teams from all over the world competing in a double elimination bracket to earn themselves the title of world champion. Day 1 had three matchups wherein the second one was between EMEA's Team Falcons Vega and China's Ambitious Legend Gaming.

The Bo3 (Best-of-three) series was rather short as Team Falcons dominated their opponents. They closed the match with a quick 2-0 win and only lost eight rounds in the entire series.

After the match, Sportskeeda Esports' Sneh Jadhav got the opportunity to talk to Team Falcons' Mary, during which she said:

"We are here for each other"

Team Falcons Vega's Mary discusses her growth as a pro and playing with her new team in VCT Game Changers Championship 2024

Team Falcons Vega has proven itself a strong team throughout this year. The team had several dominant wins, suffering only a few losses. Despite being the #3 seed in this event, many have predicted them to be the dark horse of this global event.

The team's star Duelist, Maryam "Mary" Maher, is among the few pros who have competed in multiple Game Changers Championships. However, unlike her previous appearance, where she represented G2 Esports, Mary now plays for Team Falcons.

During the post-match conference, Sportskeeda Esports approached Mary for her thoughts on the differences between her as a pro player today and her first international appearance in 2022. Here's what she said:

"I would say obviously there's a big difference. I was a 16 year old and now I am 18. I think I have lots of experience coming onto the stage and onto this team. And you know I am spreading my experience onto my teammates. And I think honestly, the team environment it's just like we are so alike and we are so kept well together, we are here for each other. It also felt the same being in G2 but it always felt like I was more of the youngster, the only young one."

She then talked about her synergy with her Falcons Vega teammates:

"Now that we are five youngsters it's like we are all machines and we all know how to shoot. I think that's what differentiates G2 and us. My old team has the experience but we are also getting there and I don't doubt in no time that we can bring this cup back to MENA."

Following their win against Ambitious Legend Gaming, Team Falcons Vega is preparing to face off against NA's Shopify Rebellion in their next match. The winning team will make their way to the Upper Semifinals.
