"You’ll see like a really different game": Boom Esports' meow on VCT Ascension Pacific 2024 lower finals win and grand finals preparation (Exclusive)

Boom Esports is set to play against Sin Prisa Gaming at the finals of VCT Ascension Pacific 2024. This qualification came after a landslide victory today, on September 28, against Full Sense. BE managed to dominate their opponents on Ascent, Abyss, and Sunset leading to a 3-1 victory in the best-of-five matchup. Now, they stand the chance to take home the $20,000 prize and qualify for VCT Pacific 2025.

After the matchup against Full Sense, Sportskeeda's Angshuman Dutta interviewed Boom Esports' coach Meow regarding their gameplay and the team's future plans at VCT Ascension Pacific 2024.

Boom Esports' coach Meow discusses the team's aggressive approach and future plans at VCT Ascension Pacific 2024

Q: On Abyss, the defensive pace of the team was rather aggressive, what opportunities did the team explore against Full Sense?

Meow: We kind of know that the enemies are trying to block info so and we know if we stayed on site, it actually is very difficult for us because we knew they have a Breach, they have a Gekko. So the more we stay on the site, the harder it is for us to defend so we knew we have to get the space.

Q: What do you feel went wrong in the third map Lotus?

Meow: Actually, for me, we lost a few dumb rounds, we actually couldn’t get into the game and we started very poorly. We gave them like six rounds. I think that was the problem when, we actually understand mid-game like we needed to adapt better.

So we had a timeout, we had a talk like what was the problem and then we changed the gameplan. We’re happy we got to fight them well.

Q: For tomorrow, I remember you saying that there’s one more trump card left in you guys, so, are your plans and strategies ready? What are we going to see tomorrow?

Meow: Obviously tomorrow, you’ll see a different thing. I might sound a bit cocky, we knew we were going to go to the grand finals, so we were preparing other things for the grand finals so you’ll see like a really different game.
