Valorant Abyss Agent tier list for December 2024
The Valorant Abyss Agent tier list aims to determine the best and the worst Agents on the map. Abyss is the eleventh map of the game with two bomb sites and a long mid-corridor. As of now, there are 25 Agents with Vyse being the latest, which established itself into the tier list. While numerous Agents have different abilities, sometimes it becomes confusing which one to pick to which one to avoid.
This article will provide the Valorant Abyss Agent tier list ranking every Agent from best to worst.
Editor's Notes: While Patch 9.10 introduced a few significant changes to a handful of Valorant Agents, we still feel the tier list of the current meta remains the same. We expect a major changeup happening in early December 2024 when the Neon nerfs arrive.
Valorant Abyss Agent tier list: From best to worst
Before we jump into the tier list it should be noted that the Agent tier list is based on the current meta which may change with the change of season or updates.
The Agent tier list seeks to give you an idea of all the Agents ranging from best to worst based on the following criteria:
- Effective Utilities
- Team Assist
- Easy to control
- Pick rates
Further, all 25 Agents are ranked based on five tiers: S, A, B, C, and D, with S being the best and ideal Agents for Abyss and D being the worst.
Here is a table with all their tiers:
S-tier Agents in the Valorant Abyss Agent tier list
These Agents have the highest pick rates and are often seen in high-tier matches and tournaments. Jett is a versatile Agent known for its aggressive and fast gameplay. The map is well suited for Jett as her Updraft and Tailwind can be very useful to enter any site. While being an old Agent, Jett is still an S-tier Agent on the Valorant Abyss Agent tier list.
Sova is a perfect Agent for Abyss as his Recon Bolt and Owl Drone can clear cozy corners and gather information about enemies hiding nearby. Apart from that, his Shock Bolt and Hunter’s Fury abilities can change the tide of a round. With Cypher dominant on Abyss, you can only assume that KAY/O will be among the best counter picks. Additionally, his flashes can be easily combined with Jett’s entries which will catch your opponents off-guard.
Astra is arguably, the best Controller, on Abyss, closely beating Omen. Her abilities are perfect for the narrow choke point on A, and her ultimate is extremely well suited for the B bomb site. Omen is one of the best Controller Agents for Abyss. Given the map's large size, his range of smokes can be extremely essential for keeping control of certain areas. This allows him to assist his team on both ends of the map. Omen can also use his Shrouded Step in quite a few places and even some out-of-bounds spots to make flashy plays. Lastly, his Paranoia is also quite useful to start some set executes into a site.

A-tier Agents in the Valorant Abyss Agent tier list
The A-tier consists of those Agents, who are good for some specific situations. These Agents don’t provide as much value as those of the S tier. However, these Agents are also effective if used properly.
To complement Neon and Yoru’s playstyle, one of your Initiators needs to be Breach. Breach’s Fault Line goes extremely well in combination with Yoru’s Gatecrash, and Neon’s High Gear. Due to this, he belongs on the A-tier of the Valorant Abyss Agent tier list.
Neon is currently among the best Agents to play in Valorant. Her High Gear can come in very handy for a large map like Abyss for quick rotations. Once mastered, Neon's movement itself can be quite the distraction for enemies which can then be capitalized on for kills. Gekko is useful in planting the Spike or even preventing enemies from defusing it. His Mosh Pit ability is useful to stop enemies from entering the site. Moreover, his Thrash, which is the Ultimate ability helps the team to clear any site.

On a map like Abyss, Clove’s relatively short-lasting smokes hamper their overall value. However, you might use them as a secondary Controller, if your playstyle is aggressive. Due to this, Clove is an A-tier Agent in the Valorant Abyss Agent tier list. Killjoy is a somewhat tricky Agent to use on Abyss. Her abilities allow her to anchor the site perfectly, however, problems begin when she has to rotate toward either site. Due to her limited range of abilities, she can be rendered useless once baited into a rotation. This also affects her potential to capitalize on lurks during the attacking half.
The latest Sentinel, Vyse, isn't the best pick for Abyss but she can find some impact on the map. Her Arc Rose is easily the best to get information or set up early duels in A Main on the map. Meanwhile, the Sheer and Razorvine can also be very effective in slowing the opponents down. Her most useful ability for Abyss will be the ultimate, Steel Garden as it will at the very least make the enemies flee the site.
B-tier Agents in the Valorant Abyss Agent tier list
The B-tier includes those Agents that might find some niche uses in very specific team compositions. These Agents are effective in some specific situations and often require practice to master.
Fade can be a substitute for Sova if you are more comfortable with the Initiator. Her Prowler and Haunt can easily reveal hidden enemies and clear sites. Skye can be a decent pick for Abyss for its Guiding Light and Trailblazer abilities which detect the presence of enemies. Moreover, she can be useful in regaining the health of his teammates by using the Regrowth ability.
Iso is effective against Operator players, which are very common in Abyss. However, his abilities mostly depend on how good your aim is, which makes him a poor choice. This makes Iso an B-tier Agent in the Valorant Abyss Agent tier list. Yoru can be useful to rotate in an instant to help teammates fend off the enemies. Gatecrash can also be used while using the Operator on the defensive half. After getting a kill with the sniper, Yoru can instantly teleport to the other side to do the same. On the attacking half, his most useful tool can be the Blindside which allows him to act like a KAY/O by setting up his team with flashes. Phoenix is also a great pick for a Duelist on the Valorant Abyss Agent tier list.
Viper’s Toxic Screen and Poison Cloud have a limited range to block enemies' vision. However, her Viper's Pit ability can be effective in wiping out the entire squad with a few hits. Harbor can be a decent pick but requires proper utilization of his abilities. His Cascade and High Tide abilities help execute a site and block enemies’ vision. Sage is a comfort pick. You can learn some unique Sage walls to outsmart your enemies but in the long run, it might not be fruitful. For these reasons, she is in the B-tier of the Valorant Abyss Agent tier list.
Deadlock can find some amount of value on Abyss. With her abilities, she can anchor down the map's sites. Her Sonic Sensors can be placed at multiple spots, especially on the A Site, to stun enemies that may try to force their way into the site. Gravnet can also find a decent amount of use during post-plant scenarios to guarantee kills as the attacking team usually ends up playing with bullet spams to deny the spike defuse.

C-tier Agents in the Valorant Abyss Agent tier list
The C-tier includes those Agents that are picked due to particular strategies built around them. They are not the best in their respective classes but with a few minor buffs, they can be extremely powerful.
Reyna mostly plays solo and her abilities are ineffective in Abyss. Her Leer ability can be useful to blind enemies but that can be shattered by a few hits. However, her skill set is not worthy for higher ranking in the Valorant Abyss Agent tier list. Raze is very useful in Abyss for her damaging utilities. Her Paint Shells and Showstopper can be a game changer if used properly. With her Boom Bot abilities, she can assist her teammates by clearing cozy corners of the map.
Brimstone can be useful in Abyss for Sky Smokes which blocks enemies’ vision. Moreover, his Incendiary and Orbital Strike ability can be effective for post-plant situations. Chamber’s utility revolves around weaponry which is ineffective in executing a site. Moreover, his Trademark ability has a limited range which can easily broken.
