Riot Games recently announced that they will be moving their venue for VCT Pacific Ascension 2024 from Tokyo to Jakarta. The developers also stated they were experiencing some issues while getting everything ready in Tokyo for their upcoming tournament. This news has come as a surprise for eager fans who were ready to book their tickets for the event in Japan.

In their recent blog post, the Valorant Esports team at Riot Games stated that they were expecting several production delays while setting up everything in Tokyo for their upcoming tournament in September 2024.

The developers felt that it wouldn’t be a good representation of their hospitality if the preparations for the upcoming event were finalized in Tokyo, due to technical and competitive issues, which is why they decided to shift the event to Jakarta. In the blog post, Riot Games claimed that the changes were necessary to ensure the players and the viewers were satisfied with the preparations.

Additionally, Riot stated that if they host the VCT Pacific Ascension 2024 in Jakarta, they can host an excellent tournament with a good format, high-quality broadcast, and affordable ticket prices for the fans so they can meet the players’ expectations.

The format for the upcoming VCT Pacific Ascension of 2024 will feature a simple double-elimination bracket. This allows the teams who lose one match to compete in the lower bracket and get a chance to fight for the trophy. All of the matches will be in the Bo3 (Best of three) format, whereas the Lower Final and Grand Final will be a Bo5.
