"What in the Fortnite is this": Internet slams Valorant for Fortnite-inspired design

A new Valorant skin set has gone viral, capturing the attention of fans for a variety of reasons. The Wonderstallion bundle, characterized by its whimsical design featuring rainbows and stars, is set to be the next addition to the in-game store. However, despite its playful appearance, not all players were impressed when popular leaker @ValorantUpdated shared a glimpse of it on their X account.

User @NickyDubz7 compared the Wonderstallion bundle to the array of skins commonly associated with Fortnite. They said:

"what in the fortnite is this"

@dojafm simply called the skin set "Fortnite-coded":

"its so fortnite coded"

@Th3Nyx stated that while they're not happy with the collection's design, they're still considering buying it.

Meanwhile, @pirace_rky had a more controversial opinion:

"Someone got paid money to design this garbageā€¦"

@ItzJMar suggested that Riot Games might have been better off leaving this skin set on the drawing board. They felt the concept should have remained in the workshop and never made it to the Valorant store.

While many players feel the Wonderstallion bundle resembles skins in Fortnite due to its bright colors, there is no known collaboration between Valorant and Epic Games' title.

While Riot Games may have drawn some inspiration from the Rainbow Smash Pickaxe in Fortnite, there has been no official confirmation of it. The design of the Wonderstallion bundle is simply a creative choice made by the game's cosmetics team.

Nevertheless, the skin set is visually striking, potentially making it a favorite among players and a valuable addition to their collections. That said, the bundle is also affordable compared to some of the other collections.

The Wonderstallion bundle is priced at 4,440VP and is currently available in the in-game store. The melee will cost you 3,550 VP, while each of the guns is priced at 875 VP. However, the weapon designs are basic. It's the same default design with a new color on top, giving it a bright and cheerful appearance.

Here are all the weapons included in the Wonderstallion collection.

  • Vandal
  • Guardian
  • Spectre
  • Frenzy
  • Melee

The Wonderstallion bundle in Valorant will remain available in the store for about 12 more days. However, one could say it was released in a very competitive environment since the Champions 2024 bundle is also currently in the store for just about the same number of days.

Moreover, the Night Market was recently released and will remain active until August 28, 2024. This could also affect the number of players opting to purchase the new Wonderstallion bundle. Regardless, it is a creative new skin set and worthy of consideration.
