When might Valorant Console beta end? Possibilities explored

The Valorant console beta officially went live on June 14, 2024. The limited beta was announced after much anticipation for fans and can be played on console devices which include the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X|S. These consoles are currently the only two that can run the game. As the game is currently in beta mode, not all the maps have been made available. Essentially, this stage is just Riot Games testing the game out on new devices.

The limited beta is just like the beta first launched for the PC. While the game functions essentially all the same, it cannot be considered a full version. Errors and bugs are likely and a proper version would eventually be released. So, how long is the beta stage?

Valorant Console beta: When is the ending date?

The Valorant Console beta was announced on June 8, 2024. It would soon go live and become playable for registered players from June 14. The limited beta has the added feature of the Focus mode.

However, just like this new mode, there are a lot of smaller internal mechanics that are new to the game. For instance, Valorant being played on controllers itself is new and must have been a challenging setup for devs.

This is why, like any other game, launching a limited beta version first for players to play is a good idea. This way, new players can get adjusted to the game and devs can collect valuable feedback for the fuller version to be released next.

As of right now, Riot Games has not announced when exactly this Valorant Console beta will come to an end. On their official website, a message from the team behind Valorant says this:

"The Limited Beta is intended to help us make sure VALORANT is ready for you on Console. The Limited Beta will help us test our server performance, as well as some other things. We’ll end it once we feel confident in where the game is at. Follow our social channels for updates as we go!"

As made clear by the message, Riot Games is still trying to ensure that the servers and some other things are in place. Now, one could consider the way Valorant was launched on the PC to calculate the eventual launch on the Console as well.

Under the tentative title of 'Project A', the game was announced in 2020 with a beta being launched on April 7 of the same year. This beta, similar to the Valorant Console beta tested the game out along with the servers, tick-rate, and more.

This original beta ended on May 28, 2020, over one and a half months after its release. Finally, the game was fully released on June 2, 2020. So players can expect the Valorant Console beta to last anywhere between 1-3 months starting from June 14, 2024.
