2014 FIVB World Men's Volleyball Championship draw complete
The draw for the the FIVB 2014 World Men’s Volleyball championship was held at Poland with the defending champions and world no 1 ranked team Brazil drawn in group B along with Germany, Korea and Finland.
The 18th edition of the FIVB 2014 World Men’s Volleyball championship will be held at Poland in the cities of Gdansk, Wroclaw, Bydgoszcz, Katowice, Lodz and Krakow for 15 days from August 30 to September 21, 2014.
Below are the Pools for the FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship Poland 2014:
- Pool A – Poland, Argentina, Serbia, Australia, CAVB 3, Venezuela
- Pool B – Brazil, NORCECA 2, Germany, CAVB 1, Korea, Finland
- Pool C – Russia, Bulgaria, NORCECA 3, CAVB 2, China, NORCECA 5
- Pool D – Italy, NORCECA 1, Iran, France, NORCECA 4, Belgium
The qualification for the NORCECA (North, Central American and Carribean Confederation) and CAVB (African Confederation) is yet to be completed.
Four teams from Asia, three teams from Africa, nine teams from Europe (including hosts Poland), three from South America and five from NORCECA will compete in the 2014 FIVB 2014 World Men’s Volleyball championship.
The first World Championships was held in 1949 for men and 1952 for women. Brazil are the defending champions of the men’s world championship.
