China's Shandong beats Kazakhstan in women's volleyball
Ninh Binh (Vietnam), July 14 (IANS) Chinese province Shandong defeated Kazakhstan in straight sets on the first day of the 10th international women’s volleyball tournament, VTV Eximbank Cup, here.
The Shandong players outperformed the Kazakh players winning the match 25-21, 25-17, 25-20 Saturday, reports Xinhua.
Earlier, China’s Jiangsu province beat hosts Vietnam 3-2 while Thailand defeated Australia 3-1.
The tourney is being held from July 13-20 with the participation of six teams from Australia, China, Kazakhstan, Thailand and Vietnam competing in round robin format. The top four teams will enter the semifinals.
