The Black Hawks Hyderabad will look to continue their positive beginning in the RuPay Pro Volleyball League 2019 when they face off against the Chennai Spartans in the sixth match at the Rajiv Gandhi Indoor Stadium in Kochi, Kerala.

Led by a top show from Carson Clark, the Black Hawks registered a thrilling 3-2 win over the Ahmedabad Defenders while in the Spartans' first match, Shelton Moses' side failed to stick to their plans as they fell to a big 1-4 loss against the Calicut Heroes.

Match Overview

The Black Hawks hit the ground running in their opening match as they shrugged off some stiff competition from the Ahmedabad Defenders to notch up a nail-biting 3-2 win. Skipper Carson Clark was in fine nick while his deputy Ashwal Rai was on top of his mark too.

Gifted with a powerful spike, the left-handed Carson Clark created tough angles for the opposition blockers and picked up 15 points, while Ashwal Rai had a good outing with 14 points with 11 of those points coming from the attacking front.

The Spartans endured a debut outing quite opposite to the Black Hawks as they failed to stitch together individual moments of brilliance and succumbed to a 1-4 routing at the hands of the Calicut Heroes.

Foreign signing Rudy Verhoeff was one of the few bright sparks for the Spartans as he picked up 8 points while Akhin G.S used his tall frame to good effect and picked up six points on the night.

While the Spartans look to bounce back to winning ways, the Black Hawks could be expected to give their opponents a serious run for their money.
