10 possible countries for WWE’s next stadium event
In the wake of WWE's recent Greatest Royal Rumble event in Jeddah, many fans have been discussing the possibility of the company running stadium shows more often. It makes all the sense in the world given just how successful WrestleMania has been since permanently transitioning into stadiums since 2007, and we're all for it.
Obviously, the controversy surrounding the Saudi event has caused some scepticism - which is perfectly natural. Still, the lingering issues with that show won't be present elsewhere, and that's a virtual guarantee.
Note: Australia and the US won't be included on this list, as they've both already had stadium events confirmed for later in the year/early 2019. So, think of this as a compilation of "next NEXT stadium show" entries which could come to fruition in the coming months.
With that being said, here are 10 possible countries for WWE's next stadium event.
#1 Japan
Over the last few years, New Japan Pro-Wrestling has been one of the most entertaining promotions in all of professional wrestling. They've experienced a resurgence which few could've anticipated, and now, they're firmly positioned as Japan's number one source of wrestling action.
Still, that doesn't mean WWE has completely ignored the market, and if they really want to make some noise, putting on a show there could be a smart idea.
They tested the waters back in 2015 with Beast in the East, and if they want to expand on that, then they're well within their rights to do so. As opposed to heading to the Tokyo Dome, however, they should set up camp in Yokohama which is the city that holds the largest stadium in the country at 72,000.
It'd certainly raise some eyebrows, and you just know that's what Vince wants.
