2 celebrities who hate wrestling and 2 celebrities who are lifelong fans
Pro-wrestling is not everyone's cup of tea. Throughout the past several decades, wrestling has been a niche business, and its popularity has reached new heights since the advent of social media. Today, WWE has more than a billion social media followers.
Multiple celebrities have stated in the past that they grew up watching the likes of Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair, and some have even helped WWE garner mainstream coverage by appearing on the premiere shows. Let's take a look at 2 celebs who openly hate wrestling and two celebs who are lifelong fans of the great sport.
Celebs who hate wrestling
#2 Mia Khalifa
After finishing off a short career in the adult film industry, Mia Khalifa managed to stay in the limelight via her social media handles such as Twitter, and her huge fan following.
It all began when Mia commented on Ronda Rousey considering a career in WWE. She stated that Ronda Rousey's career will die in WWE. She went on to add that she didn't have a shred of respect for pro-wrestling and that she finds it embarrassing.
After receiving tons of backlash on social media for her scathing comments, Khalifa explained that she didn't hate wrestlers and people should not take everything seriously.
Mia's tweets received responses from a former wrestler, Hurricane Helms, and she went on to make a wrestling appearance to get on the fans' good side.
#1 Nancy Grace
Although not a legit celeb, this American television journalist is known for all the wrong reasons.
She is infamous for interrupting her guests repeatedly, always wanting to have the last laugh and treating guests with the utmost disrespect. When The Ultimate Warrior died in 2014, Grace picked up the story and weaved it around wrestlers' deaths due to steroid usage.
The drama only got worse from that point on as she invited WCW legend, DDP, to her show and they got into a heated exchange. Rumours began spreading around that WWE had blackballed Grace and a wrestler associating themselves with her in any capacity would be fired immediately.
The controversy died off soon, but one thing's for sure: we won't be seeing a current WWE superstar being interviewed by Grace on her show for a long time to come, or maybe forever.
