A total of ten matches were scheduled to take place at Extreme Rules, but two new matches were added to the show. Several titles were on the line and some belts changed hands in Philadelphia.

The Universal Title changed hands as Brock Lesnar cashed in the Money in the Bank contract successfully. Though Becky Lynch is still the RAW Women's Champion, Rollins lost the Universal Title. Kofi Kingston defeated Samoa Joe to retain the WWE Title. Moreover, AJ Styles won the US Title for a third time after pinning Ricochet. Nakamura won the Intercontinental Championship by beating Finn Balor in the kick-off show.

Aleister Black and Cesaro offered an exceptional match as the former pinned the latter. While the New Day became the new SmackDown Tag Team Champions, the Revival retained the RAW Tag Team Championship. The team of Undertaker and Roman Reigns defeated the team of Drew McIntyre and Shane McMahon.

The show had some awesome moments and some heartbreaking moments. Here we discuss two things WWE did right and two things WWE didn't do right at Extreme Rules.

#2 Didn't do right: Ricochet lost the US Title

Ricochet and AJ Styles faced each other at Extreme Rules. Since they already locked horns twice on RAW, it was their third encounter. The two men are extremely impressive in the squared circle and they delivered an awe-inspiring match at Extreme Rules. It was the second title defense of Ricochet but he failed to retain the belt.

Being a heel, Styles didn't have a fair victory. Since Anderson and Gallows were at ringside, they were bound to get involved in this match. The former RAW Tag Team Champions distracted Ricochet and it allowed Styles to hit a vicious Styles Clash from the second rope. The fans were excited when Ricochet grabbed the US Title at Stomping Grounds, however, the title reign lasted just twenty-one days.
