2-time WWE Hall of Famer to come out of retirement after 6 years? Exploring the chances
In pro wrestling and WWE, there is no greater honor than becoming a WWE Hall of Famer. It is something that only those who have given their heart and soul in the ring can accomplish. More often than not, it is earned once a superstar decides to hang up his gear. But, could one such legend who has been inducted into the Hall of Fame twice lace up his wrestling boots once more for the first time in six years?
The last time Shawn Michaels was seen in a WWE ring, he was teamed up with Triple H in a match against The Brothers of Destruction at Crown Jewel 2018. Now, six years later, the WWE Hall of Famer could be planning to get back into wrestling shape in light of what happened at the most recent NXT show.
It all went down in the main event where Trick Williams faced Eddy Thorpe. It was an incredible match that ended controversially with a double pinfall. Considering the rules, Williams was handed the victory, which understandably left Thorpe incensed. Soon enough, Shawn Michaels came in and tried to calm him down, only to be shoved by the 34-year-old.
Thorpe would later taunt Michaels on X (fka Twitter), and go on to label the result of the match as "injustice." While he may be 59 years old, The Heartbreak Kid will surely not take such disrespect lightly. But, at the end of the day, this is speculation, and there is no telling if the WWE Hall of Famer will actually come out of retirement.
Shawn Michaels isn't the only WWE Hall of Famer whose in-ring return is being speculated
The last two weeks have led to a lot of speculation surrounding the in-ring return of certain legends. After all, Shawn Michales wasn't the only WWE Hall of Famer to get into it with a current superstar. Fans will remember that Michaels' good friend and D-Generation X comrade, Triple H also had a heated confrontation recently with Kevin Owens.
Following Saturday Night's Main Event, the WWE CCO came out and blasted KO, who hit yet another illegal maneuver after losing his World Title Match against Cody Rhodes. The two came face-to-face, and it's safe to say the tension was palpable. So much so, that there was a lot of speculation about The Game's potential return for one last match with The Prizefighter.
Unsurprisingly, many within WWE were surprised by this notion. Regardless, both Triple H and Shawn Michaels need to deal with these problematic superstars, one way or another.
