2 WrestleMania 35 matches hinted at tonight's Raw
As the Show of Shows looms closer, the WWE Universe is still waiting for the WrestleMania card to shape up, with only the main events having been set up at this point.
Tonight's Raw turned out to be an eventful show, with lots of stuff happening over the course of the three hours of television. It began with the BIG return of Roman Reigns, who had promised an update on his recovery from Leukaemia.
The sea of fans erupted when Reigns disclosed that he was in remission and back to active competition! The announcement came as a total shocker and is set to heavily alter WWE's plans heading into the grandest stage of them all.
The night came to a harrowing end with the return of one of the most ruthless superstars in WWE history, Batista.
Tonight's Raw ended up with hinting at two possible matches at WrestleMania 35. Let's take a look at them.
#1 Roman Reigns vs Drew McIntyre
As the night progressed, we got another beatdown from the infamous trio of Lashley, McIntyre and Corbin. This time though, they had an ally in Elias, as the four of them assaulted Dean Ambrose after his match with McIntyre.
The crowd erupted as "Burn It Down" hit, and out came Seth Rollins, and he had the returning Reigns with him! The duo disposed of the assaulters in quick succession and left Ambrose inside the ring, eyeing him from the ramp.
The highlight of the rescue was the moment when Reigns delivered a thunderous spear to the McIntyre, much to the crowd's elation.
Although it's almost a lock that we're going to get a final Shield reunion before Dean Ambrose leaves the WWE, it should come as no surprise if we get to see the Big Dog go toe to toe with McIntyre at WrestleMania 35.
The seeds have already been planted with the devastating spear on Drew, and the storyline could be further stretched after the dust is settled at WWE Fastlane.
Sharing the ring with a superstar of the caliber of Roman Reigns will only help matters for McIntyre, as he slowly ascends to the top of the main roster.
#2 Triple H vs Batista
The WWE Universe still remembers the night of SmackDown 1000, when we got the much-awaited reunion of one of the most dominant factions of the 21st century, Evolution.
The seeds for a future Triple H-Batista match were planted immediately as Batista made a remark about how The Game has done it all, but has never managed to best The Animal.
Tonight on Raw, when the entire roster was awaiting the legendary Ric Flair to come out for his 70th birthday celebration, the camera panned to the backstage area. A returning Batista entered Flair's room, ruthlessly attacked him, and dragged him out of the room.
Batista looked at the camera and asked The Cerebral Assassin whether he had his attention now. This led to a distraught Triple running to the back, but The Animal was nowhere to be seen by that point.
After months of speculation, we're finally getting a WrestleMania rematch between the two superstars, who faced each other at WrestleMania 21, 14 years ago.
