26-year-old WWE superstar to have a long undefeated streak like Goldberg? Exploring the chancesĀ
Undefeated streaks are hard to come by, but perhaps Goldberg had the most iconic one of all. While many remember The Undertaker's infamous "Streak" at WrestleMania, or more recently Asuka's impressive 914 days without a loss, there is no denying that the Hall of Famer's streak was incredible. But, could a young up-and-coming 26-year-old WWE superstar match or even surpass it?
With undeniable power and sheer dominance, Goldberg went 173-0 during his days as one of the poster boys in WCW. Looking across the board, there are few in WWE who could possibly match that. But, delving deeper, the WWE Universe wouldn't be mad at hearing the name of 26-year-old superstar Oba Femi, who in his short career in NXT so far has been every bit powerful and dominant.
Since making his official debut at NXT Spring Breakin' 2023, Oba Femi has gone undefeated. As of last night, the Nigerian sensation took his winning streak to 14-0. Through it all, he has decimated and destroyed his opponents, winning the NXT North American Championship along the way. Given his performances in the ring and the string of victories he has earned for himself, many are starting to draw similarities between him and Goldberg.
There is no denying that Oba Femi has everything he needs to match the win streak of The Myth. But, if that happens is something that remains to be seen. After all, this is nothing more than mere speculation.
Goldberg dreamed about having his retirement match against fellow WCW icon
For a few years now, Goldberg has been hinting at wanting to perform in one final match. At the age of 57, retirement is on the horizon for the four-time champion, but his last match in WWE left a lot to be desired. Taking on Roman Reigns at Elimination Chamber in 2022, it wasn't exactly the farewell he had imagined, as the match lasted for no more than six minutes.
With that in mind, he is on the hunt for one more match, a match that allows him to gracefully enter retirement. However, when posed with a question regarding ideal opponents on the Busted Open podcast, he drew a blank. The WCW legend revealed that he didn't have any opponent in mind, however, he did dream of facing another WCW icon, Sting.
A match between the two Hall of Famers certainly would have been something to see. But, as The Myth revealed, it wouldn't have been possible, as he didn't want to take anything away from The Vigilante. That said, he is still looking out for that perfect opportunity, and once it presents itself, the wrestling world will be ready.
