There is no doubt that SummerSlam was an awesome pay-per-view where every match lived up to the hype. It was one of the best PPVs of the year, if not the best. The matches were top-notch and the Universal Championship changed hands with Seth Rollins trumping Brock Lesnar.

The Biggest Party of the Summer took place in Toronto. Ontario. Due to an action-packed show, the sold-out Scotiabank Arena was loud. The fans were invested in every match and two hometown heroes performed in front of the home crowd.

Considering it is the second biggest pay-per-view of the company, a few titanic names were part of the show. Edge, Goldberg, Trish Stratus, Brock Lesnar, Randy Orton were among those who performed at SummerSlam.

Nevertheless, some big names were missing from the show and their omission certainly raised eyebrows.

Here is a look at three big names who skipped the event.

#3 Drew McIntyre

The Scottish Psychopath

Drew McIntyre, who was not present in Toronto, was a significant name to miss out. The Scottish Psychopath had a match at Extreme Rules but he skipped the Biggest party of the Summer. There is no denying that McIntyre is one of the top guys of WWE. Thus, making his absence perplexing.

McIntyre is currently having a rivalry with Cedric Alexander, while he is also involved in the feud between Shane McMahon and Kevin Owens. McIntyre suffered a shocking loss to Cedric Alexander a couple of weeks ago on RAW. Though the Scottish Psychopath eventually assaulted the former Cruiserweight Champion, he wasn't allowed his shot at redemption in the squared circle.

A match between McIntyre and Cedric could have been spectacular at the Scotiabank Arena. Moreover, it would have been a perfect chance for McIntyre to avenge his previous defeat.
