Vince McMahon's billion-dollar company is yet to strike the right chord with this generation of pro wrestling fans. Despite ruling the industry for decades, WWE's gravitation towards a more mainstream product has opened doors for other platforms to adopt a more sports-oriented approach.
Although the company does advocate the notion of giving fans what they want, the quality of storytelling weekly has started to decline. Legions in the WWE Universe tune into Monday Night RAW and SmackDown Live every week, but unfortunately, they feel disconnected by the company's proclivity towards garnering mainstream attention.
Rather than focusing on what's transitioning between the ropes and building from there, relying on more reputed names for viewership is starting to diminish the company's creative credibility. It's about time the main roster realizes what needs alteration and gets back to the drawing board.
Without further ado, let's predict a few bold decisions that could make WWE great again.
#1 Asuka starts her undefeated streak and beats Becky Lynch for the Raw Women's Championship
Widely hailed as one of the most prolific female performers of this generation, Asuka's recent transition to Monday Night RAW has been an average affair so far. The former NXT Women's Champion currently working with Kairi Sane as the Kabuki Warriors has caused a bit of a stir on Monday Nights.
If previous encounters are anything to take into consideration, then Becky Lynch certainly has some unfinished business with Asuka.
Having suffered a loss to Asuka at the Royal Rumble this year, a post-Survivor-Series clash could be incredible, and with Becky constantly vowing for someone to step up, Asuka's antagonism and willingness to knock The Man off her perch could make for some interesting television.
Whilst it's important for the creative to book intriguing rivalries on screen, it's equally significant to ascend the challenger's credibility as an unforgiving performer between the ropes. Propelling someone like Asuka back to the top of the mountain would bring an element of rejuvenation to the division and make things more serious on the Red brand.
