3 Changes WWE administration made in 2024

WWE has indeed changed its direction after the developments that took place at an administration level, following the departure of Vince McMahon. With Nick Khan and Triple H taking over, we saw a lot of changes taking place, in terms of creative storytelling, the organization of premium live events, and more.

With the Stamford-based company set to activate its blockbuster deal with the streaming platform, Netflix, in January 2025, we take a look at three changes that the administration made in 2024 which helped elevate ratings and generate more revenue.

#3. Elevate the overall WWE product

In WWE's new era, we have seen a lot of changes in the creative direction. New storylines have been created, while the quality of matches and the build-up of the respective feuds have also changed.

Superstars now have more freedom to go off the script on the microphone. A segment between Seth Rollins, CM Punk, and Drew McIntyre a few months ago is the best example of it, where all three superstars went off-script to take shots at each other.

Such segments make things more interesting for fans and improve the overall product, attracting more attention. At the same time, superstars have opened up about how things have been different under the creative leadership of Triple H, with more superstars getting an opportunity to step up and make a statement.

#2. Reviving Premium Live Events such as Bad Blood

WWE hosts several premium live events every year, with some of them, like the Royal Rumble, WrestleMania, SummerSlam, and Survivor Series: WarGames, being big-time ones.

Other PLEs are equally important to the business, like the Elimination Chamber, and Money in the Bank, while several other premium live events could disappear for a while before coming back.

Such is the case with events, like the upcoming Bad Blood, which had not been seen in years, but now returns and is expected to have a stacked match card. The Saturday Night's Main Event is also returning after several years, and it will take place on December 14, 2024, in Long Island, New York.

It is also worth mentioning that the WWE administration hosted several premium live events outside of the United States of America after WrestleMania XL, which were quite successful, given the reaction from fans and the sold-out tickets.

#1. Press conferences after Premium Live Events

A significant change that the WWE administration made in 2024 was hosting press conferences after premium live events. As big-time events, like WrestleMania XL and SummerSlam 2024 generated a lot of interest and revenue, the administration changed its direction and hosted post-show press conferences.

It was something that we had seen in boxing and UFC, or other wrestling promotions, like AEW, but not in WWE. Thus, fans have the opportunity to see their favorite superstars share their thoughts on the respective premium live events, hint at new storylines, and more.

This was one of the top changes that were made under the company's new administration and as we are heading into the end of 2024, it remains to be seen what other changes fans will witness taking place.
