3 current WWE champions who may not lose their title before 2025
One dream that every young up-and-coming WWE Superstar hopes to achieve is winning a championship. This could be something as simple as one of the secondary championships like the United States Championship, or one of the most coveted belts in the business, the World Heavyweight Championship. Winning a title immediately elevates you to becoming one of the top stars in the company.
However, one of the hardest things to do upon winning a championship is keeping hold of it. Over the years, several stars have risen to the occasion and won a title, only to lose it after a short reign. Just recently, the WWE Universe bore witness to Drew McIntyre's plight, as his reign as World Heavyweight Champion lasted all but five minutes.
That being said, there are a few champions in 2024, who will likely end the year with their titles still firmly around their waists. So, without further ado, here are three WWE champions who may not lose their title before 2025.
#3. Bron Breakker will head into 2025 still the Intercontinental Champion
First on the list is none other than The Badass himself, Bron Breakker. At the age of just 26, Breakker is one of the youngest champions in the WWE, and rightfully so. His incredible athleticism and skill in the ring is what helped him overcome Sami Zayn at SummerSlam, where he captured the Intercontinental Championship.
Now, Breakker is all set for a second title defense, as some of Monday Night RAW's top stars compete in a tournament for the right to become the number one contender. But, will the winner prevail when face-to-face with Breakker in the squared circle? It is highly unlikely. After all, Breakker is a superstar that the Stamford-based promotion believes highly in, and he should continue to ride the wave into 2025.
#2. Gunther will continue to stand tall as both The Ring General and the World Heavyweight Champion
If there is one superstar who has experience holding onto titles for a long time it's The Ring General, Gunther. Since joining WWE, the Austrian superstar has not had a title reign that wasn't monumental. He held the WWE NXT United Kingdom Championship for 870 days, the Intercontinental Championship for a record-breaking 666 days, and now stands tall as the World Heavyweight Champion.
With that in mind, there is no reason why Triple H and Co. should end this trend. Gunther has a knack for long title reigns, and while he will likely take on Sami Zayn, who ended his historic IC title reign, very soon, he should head into 2025 still on top.
#1. Cody Rhodes' story as the Undisputed WWE Champion is far from over
Finally, we have Cody Rhodes who, to some, might be a controversial pick for this list. Since becoming the Undisputed WWE Champion at WrestleMania 40 and finishing his story, Rhodes has received some criticism. Some believe that his title reign has already become rather stale. Nevertheless, it would be wise to continue having him as champion.
The best is yet to come for The American Nightmare. While his feuds thus far have been somewhat short-lived, there is so much potential to be explored with him as champion. Right now, he is focused on Solo Sikoa and The Bloodline, but those aren't the only challenges set to present themselves. Roman Reigns will definitely want a rematch, and The Rock will also be keeping an eye on Rhodes and his title.
