3 Current WWE Champions who are in danger of losing their Championships in June
While many fans believe that there can never be too many championships in a wrestling promotion, WWE usually maintains its tally at seven major titles.
Late last year and this year, however, they announced the new Women’s Tag Team Championships and also the 24/7 Championship which have been added to the treasure chest of the company.
This has increased the stakes in the company, and now there are even more superstars involved in the quest to win the gold on offer. This means that there are more chances of titles changing hands on televised shows and pay-per-views than before.
Keeping that in mind, we have compiled a list of three current champions whose reigns are in danger of being put to an end in June, especially with the Super ShowDown and Stomping Grounds scheduled for the month.
#3 R-Truth
A few weeks ago, Hardcore legend Mick Foley made his way to the ring to announce the new WWE 24/7 Championship. The championship will be defended across all of WWE's brands, including Raw, SmackDown, 205 Live, NXT, and NXT UK.
The championship is contested under stipulations similar to the previous WWE Hardcore Championship, which at one time had a "24/7 rule". The 24/7 Championship can be defended anytime, anywhere, as long as a referee is present.
R-Truth managed to win the championship after two other superstars on the first night and has managed to lose and retain it moments later on several occasions.
While it does not feature in the top championships of WWE, the new title will need some time to stabilize and for Creative to find the right purpose for it.
It’s evident that R-Truth has been handed the title as he can provide a lot of comic relief and make sure that the title stays in the public eye. With that said, Truth will most probably lose the title for good in the coming weeks, and WWE will hand it to an up-and-coming superstar.
