3 directions for Odyssey Jones on RAW following incredible WWE returnĀ

The RAW after WWE SummerSlam 2024 was memorable for multiple reasons, and Odyssey Jones' impactful return is one of those. Now the question is: What's next for him?

Following a lengthy absence from WWE TV, the 30-year-old force of nature proved that he only needed one segment to make a name for himself. The way he singlehandedly took care of The Final Testament instantly slotted him as a superstar to look out for.

As a member of a tremendously stacked RAW roster, Jones has endless possibilities as he continues to carve out a permanent spot for himself in the hearts of WWE fans. But the most logical thing would be to pick things up from where they were left last week.

That said, here are three exciting directions for the powerhouse ahead of the upcoming edition of WWE RAW.

#3. Squashing a heel and introducing himself to the WWE Universe via a promo

It goes without saying that Jones' rescue of The New Day from The Final Testament's attack left fans wanting to see more of him.

But what's also true is that a significant portion of the WWE Universe isn't familiar with the 'Future Favorite.' So, in order to establish a connection with the fans, it would be smart to let him cut a quick promo and make a statement that will instantly etch his name in fans' minds.

However, given that fans have waited a full week to see an impactful follow-up to last week's segment, a mere promo might plunge Jones' popularity rather than boost it.

So, in case he gets mic time, it should follow a squash match in which Jones gets to flex his jaw-dropping power moves. His opponent could either be an enhancement talent, a lower-card heel, or one-half of The Authors of Pain.

#2. Helping out Otis, Akira Tozawa & Maxxine Dupri

An interesting follow-up to Jones' heroic antics last week could be the revelation that he didn't help The New Day because he wanted to join them.

A defining trait of his current fan-favorite character could be that he is opposed to letting heels have a numbers advantage over babyfaces. The way he aided Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods against The Final Testament, he could also stand up to the Chad Gable-led 'American Made.'

On WWE RAW, The Creed Brothers are set to face Otis and Akira Tozawa in tag-team action. It's a no-brainer that Chad Gable will have a strong presence throughout the match.

That could prompt Odyssey Jones to come out and lend The Alpha Academy alums a helping hand. This angle could also be used to stir more tension between Jones and Xavier, as the latter might not appreciate The New Day's new ally constantly being present.

#1. Officially joining The New Day

Over the last couple of years, The New Day hasn't enjoyed much success, which is surprising since they were among the hottest acts in the company in the mid and late-2010s.

Since Big E's unfortunate injury, the group hasn't been the same. Kingston and Woods being involved in forgettable feuds hasn't helped them maintain their popularity among fans either. For now, there are no clear updates regarding Big E's wrestling future.

While there's no denying that no WWE Superstar will ever be able to fill Big E's spot, The New Day welcoming Odyssey Jones into their group wouldn't be a bad move. It would give the long-running team a fresh break on Monday nights. At the same time, the 30-year-old rising star would benefit by having the duo's goodwill with fans rub off on him.

Furthermore, Jones' potential addition to The New Day and budding friendship with Kingston could serve as an effective tool to further the break-up angle that's been in the works for months.
