3 dream tag teams that actually happened in TNA
Tag teams are one of the most important factors in all of pro wrestling. The tag team division is one of the biggest parts of the roster and show.
Tag teams have been a major part of all shows for decades and have often been the very best part of the show, with jaw dropping matches from the like of the Road Warriors, The Hardy Boyz, Dudley Boyz, Edge & Christian, Hart Foundation, British Bulldogs and many more.
We have even had many dream tag teams over the years in WWE that saw some of the all-time greats team up for a while, including Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage, Stone Cold Steve Austin and Triple H, The Rock and The Undertaker, John Cena and Shawn Michaels and more. However, it is not just in WWE and WCW where we have seen such amazing names come together, but in Impact Wrestling as well.
While we haven't seen much, we have seen some pretty big names join together as a dream team for a match or two. So here are three dream tag teams that happened in Impact Wrestling.
#3 Rick Steiner & Road Warrior Animal
When you are listing out the top ten, maybe even top five tag teams of all-time, there are always two teams that make everyone's lists: The Road Warriors and the Steiner Brothers.
Scott Steiner had joined TNA Wrestling in 2006. After a year long run as a heel backup for Jeff Jarrett and Christian Cage, he would turn babyface in 2007 when Rick Steiner joined the company.
The Steiner Brothers reformed at a time in TNA when they had a good mix of new, up and coming tag teams, and veteran teams. And while the Steiner Brothers are one of the best ever, arguably the best ever goes to the Dudley Boyz, or Team 3D as they were in TNA.
So naturally, a feud was started between the two legendary teams, which was to see a dream tag team match between them at TNA's anniversary pay-per-view, Slammiversary.
The match didn't happen however, as just a week before the event, Scott Steiner would suffer a severe throat injury, putting him on the bench for a month. It was announced that Rick would have a replacement partner at Slammiversary, and he was revealed to be none other than arguably one half of the best tag team ever, Road Warrior Animal.
The match between them wasn't a match of the year candidate by any means, but it was sheer fun at being the Dudley Boyz vs. A Road Warrior and a Steiner. Team 3D would defeat them to retain the TNA Tag Team titles.
