3 Exciting prospects which could happen following WWE Royal Rumble 2019
The year 2019 has started with immense fashion. Last night, Royal Rumble entertained fans as it has for decades. However, this PPV was arguably one of the greatest in history. It involved surprise entrants, debuting wrestlers, and new champions. In terms of match quality, well it was perhaps the best selection in years.
The Raw brand afforded excellent matches. Finn Balor battled Brock Lesnar. Whereas, Ronda Rousey took on Sasha Banks. The SmackDown brand offered Daniel Bryan vs AJ Styles and The Miz and Shane McMahon vs The Bar. Overall the PPV proved the value of both brands.
During the Rumble matches, NXT and NXT UK talent made their impact, notably Pete Dunne, Rhea Ripley, Aleister Black, and Johhny Gargano, (watch the video below). The event has set up epic matches for WrestleMania and beyond.
#3 Curt Hawkins & Zack Ryder
Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins both worked in New York Wrestling Connection prior to WWE. In 2005 they worked in the WWE developmental system and their characters were seeded. It was not until when their legacy began.
Fellow superstar Edge utilized their talents similar to the way Jinder Mahal would with the Singh Brothers on Raw.
Throughout 2007-2009 they garnered success becoming one time WWE Tag Team champions, and assisted Edge in his championship aspirations. Nevertheless, both wrestlers had years ahead of them, in particular, Ryder.
In 2009 Ryder was drafted to ECW and the team separated. Since then he has progressed to becoming; Intercontinental and United States Champion. Whereas, Hawkins has been maintaining a losing streak.
On January 21st, 2019 Hawkins was beaten down by The Revival. During the attack, Ryder entered the ring to save Hawkins, (watch the video below), leading to speculation about a reunion. This prospect is exciting for two specific reasons.
Firstly, their partnership was always energetic and exciting. Secondly, the Raw Tag Team division would immensely benefit from their return. What can we expect?
