3 explanations for Roman Reigns challenging Seth Rollins for the Universal Championship
We can officially call Seth Rollins The Beast Slayer after his emphatic win at WrestleMania 35. Seth Rollins overcame the Beast and became the new Universal Champion of WWE. This comes after a huge hype that the match had created with rumors of this being Lesner's last match and the rise of Seth Rollins as the new face of WWE.
Brock Lesnar vs Seth Rollins was the first match of the WrestleMania 35 main show and it certainly didn't live up to the hype. After many heated brawls and promos leading up to this match, it didn't live up to the expectations of the WWE Universe. The match lasted for 2 minutes and 28 seconds. Seth Rollins killed the Beast with a low-blow and joined the ranks of Shinsuke Nakamura and Daniel Bryan in "Team Low-Blow."
Roman Reigns defeated Drew McIntyre at this year's WrestleMania. Reigns pinned McIntyre with a spear to get the victory. Roman Reigns was originally billed to take on Lesnar at WrestleMania 35 but after his unfortunate exit because of illness, Seth Rollins was introduced to the storyline. It only makes sense now that Seth Rollin's next contender for the Championship belt will be Roman Reigns.
#3 It was always going to be Roman Reigns
Roman Reigns returned as a character that WWE was slowly moulding the Big Dog into. He is a favourite of the fans and nobody questions his superhero abilities. Roman Reigns did not headline WrestleMania for the first time in four years. The next WrestleMania could well be the Big Dog's chance to lift the belt again. A year-long rivalry is only possible if Roman Reigns continue to be in a feud with Drew McIntyre as the Scottish Psychopath is a perfect heel for the Big Dog.
WWE is currently out of opponents for the Beast Slayer and they can't just hand any wrestler a victory over Seth Rollins now that he has established himself as the next big thing in WWE.
