The underwhelming title reign is finally over. Seth Rollins defeated The Beast Incarnate Brock Lesnar to become the Universal Champion ultimately. Rollins slayed the beast.

Even though many WWE fans expected a back and forth action between these two veterans of the business, all we got was a short and unclean match. Lesnar attacked Rollins even before the match had begun. Lesnar also laid Rollins out with an F5 and multiple announcer table spots. Once the referee rang the bell, Lesnar put Rollins through multiple German Suplexes. However, before Lesnar could put the Architect through another F5, Rollins' ring awareness came into play.

Rollins low-blowed Lesnar and hit him with three Curb Stomps to secure the pinfall victory and become the new Universal Champion. But why did WWE had two of its most valuable assets go through a small match without much action? In this thread, we will take a look at a few reasons why the Universal Champion match was short and unclean

#3 To make it more believable

Seth Rollins weighs above 215 pounds. Lesnar is about 50 pounds heavier. Many fans might not see Rollins defeating Lesnar as a believable move. This was the same reason why AJ Styles, Daniel Bryan, and Finn Balor fell short to the Beast Incarnate during their respective encounters with Lesnar. Thus WWE had to resort to the underhand tactics of a low blow.

We can observe some similarity between the method used in this match and Eddie Guerrero's triumph over the Beast fifteen years ago. Eddie was physically similar to Rollins. Thus, Vince used Goldberg to interfere in the match, causing Lesnar to drop the title to the Latino Heat.
