3 Fantastic botches and mistakes that you missed this week on SmackDown Live (July 23rd, 2019)
SmackDown Live had a mountain to climb this week since the show was streamed live from Miami just hours after a successful Raw Reunion episode that gave WWE its best ratings in 2019.
This week's SmackDown Live continued the build towards next month's SummerSlam event, with Shane McMahon accepting Kevin Owens' challenge for a match, whilst Randy Orton and Kofi Kingston made the decision to collide in Toronto for the WWE Championship.
Bray Wyatt and Finn Balor rehashed their old feud as they also stated that they would face off at SummerSlam, whilst other feuds between the likes of SmackDown Women's Champion Bayley and Ember Moon, as well as the Women's Tag Team Championship picture which, could finally be heating up.
As ever, even though there were a number of talking points from this week's episode, there were also a number of mistakes.
#3 Hmm, this segment didn't make any sense
The Women's Tag Team Championships will obviously be defended at SummerSlam since The IIconics have already stepped into a feud with The Kabuki Warriors, but even though that match is all but announced, WWE has allowed Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville to step into the title picture.
Mandy Rose informed her friend Deville backstage this week on Raw that she had been able to secure them a match next week on SmackDown Live, something which Deville thought was a Women's Tag Team Championship match.
Rather than correcting her friend and informing her that their match next week is non-title and that if they win they will be handed a Women's Tag Team Championship match in the future, Rose continued with her scripted lines and the outcome was a very confusing backstage segment between the two women.
