3 Ideas for Xavier Woods should he leave The New Day

Xavier Woods is faced with a tough decision, one that he will have to make sooner rather than later. As things stand, Karrion Kross and The Final Testament are breathing down his neck, desperate to make him leave The New Day. Why? Well, simply because they believe he can thrive as an individual.

After 10 years as part of one of the greatest, if not the greatest tag teams of all time, what if Woods decides to go out on his own? What will he do? What will his character be? Does WWE have any ideas in place for him?

The good news is that there are a plethora of ways WWE can go with Xavier Woods if he becomes a solo competitor. He has the charisma and the skill to thrive in singles competition. Narrowing things down, here are three potential directions for Woods should he end up leaving The New Day.

#3 Xavier Woods becomes the embodiment of an anti-hero

It's clear to see that Xavier Woods is of two minds when it comes to his impending decision. While he loves and respects Kofi Kingston, he is also not overly pleased with Kingston fighting his battles. This could lead to Woods adopting a mindset where he goes against the status quo. In other words, he is neither a heel nor a babyface.

Woods can become a character who looks out for one thing and one thing only: himself. But at the same time, he does what's right when necessary. The potential angle can show him as someone who is still trying to find himself as an individual as he embarks on this new journey.

#2 Woods is forced to take on the role of the ultimate avenger

Considering the path Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston are going down, it can only end badly for one person, Kofi Kingston. The Final Testament is relentless in its pursuit of forcing Woods to become a singles star. This can lead to a situation that may, at least in terms of kayfabe, force Kingston to retire.

Whether that is through injury or because of some nefarious plan hatched by Karrion Kross remains to be seen. But this potential angle can make Woods take up the role of the ultimate avenger.

As the ultimate avenger, Woods can target The Final Testament and avenge the loss of his fallen brother Kingston. After that, he can continue his work by helping out other superstars in need. A fitting role for a superstar like him.

#1 Woods looks to reclaim his crown as the king that never was

Many may forget that Xavier Woods is a former King of the Ring winner. In 2021, Woods won the crown but had a short and forgettable reign that was ended by Roman Reigns and The Bloodline.

After the setback, he returned to the tag team scene, having not made an impact as a singles star. But should singles competition come calling once again, perhaps one way he could make his mark is by trying to win back his crown.

Woods could target Gunther and try to take the crown from him. Otherwise, his character could focus on the next tournament, where he might look to take the throne once more. Either way, it will be interesting to see what Woods could do if he leaves The New Day.
