WWE RAW: 3 interesting observations from this week's Monday Night RAW (March 18, 2019)
This week's edition of WWE Monday Night RAW (18th March 2019) saw a lot of contrasting moments. Right from Kurt Angle challenging Baron Corbin for the former's retirement match at WrestleMania to Ronda Rousey going berserk on WWE security officials and Dana Brooke, last night's episode had it all.
The episode itself would probably rank towards the bottom half of Monday Night RAWs this year (so far). There was a lot of filler content last night, which is also a characteristic trademark associated with the show in a negative light in recent times. The big moments did not work for the most part, and the show itself featured several letdowns.
Having mentioned that, let us take a look at some interesting observations from this week's episode of Monday Night RAW...
#3: Is Baron Corbin a legitimate opponent for Kurt Angle's retirement match at WrestleMania 35?
A lot of hardcore fans are upset over the fact that Baron Corbin was the major reveal as Kurt Angle's opponent at WrestleMania 35.
Canon-wise, Baron Corbin vs. Kurt Angle at this year's WrestleMania makes sense. After all, the two of them share a recent bitter past. Kurt Angle's character has unfinished business with Corbin, and one can only assume that this saga ends with Kurt Angle reigning victorious at the Grandest Stage of them all.
But let's also keep in mind that this is being portrayed as Kurt Angle's RETIREMENT match in the WWE. Baron Corbin is not the name you would generally prefer in this situation (as a fan).
Some wanted John Cena to be Angle's opponent at WrestleMania 35.
But it is what it is. Even if a majority of the WWE Universe is against this particular booking decision (including me), there are now better chances of Kurt Angle ending his in-ring career with the last hurrah over Baron Corbin.
What are your thoughts on this upcoming matchup?
