3 interesting observations from this week's SmackDown Live (September 10, 2019)
From The Undertaker putting Sami Zayn down with a chokeslam to Erick Rowan obliterating Roman Reigns in a heated brawl, this week's edition of WWE SmackDown Live (10th September 2019) featured a lot of contrasting moments.
What I loved about last night's episode was that the writers decided to take risks when it came to booking decisions throughout the show. As a result, these decisions ended up being controversial amongst fans. But last night's show was entertaining from start to finish, and the Blue brand could be a lot better if it decided to experiment with their shows every week.
Here are a few interesting observations from this week's edition of SmackDown Live:
#3 Has the Shane McMahon-Kevin Owens feud overstayed its welcome on the Blue brand?
Undoubtedly, last night's King of the Ring slot featuring Chad Gable became a lot more interesting when Shane McMahon decided to announce himself as Elias' replacement for the KOTR Semi-Finals contest.
It is frustrating to see that happen, but what more can you expect from a character whose primary motivation is to make unpopular, self-centered decisions on the roster?
More than that, Kevin Owens' arc as the special guest referee for their match introduced another conflict, which raised the bar even higher.
But after it was all said and done, Shane McMahon decided to vent out his frustrations on Kevin Owens by firing him from the company itself!
While it does encourage you to tune in for SmackDown Live next week, this angle did very little in terms of providing better scope for Clash of Champions this Sunday.
On top of that, it feels as if the Owens-McMahon angle remained cold for the past several weeks, so much so, that last night's events between the two felt as if their rivalry was being revived for some reason.
Has Shane McMahon vs. Kevin Owens overstayed its welcome, or can the Creative add something new to this plot in the next few weeks?
